The Chamberlain Lake Campground is Friendly and Fun
There are a number of things to love about Chamberlain Lake Campground. The great lakeside location is just one of them, but it is likely one of the things bringing so many RV lovers to the campground each year. It is a great campground and it features a number of amenities that campers will enjoy. The park, located in Woodstock, CT is open from May 1 through Columbus Day each year.
Amenities at Chamberlain Lake Campground
The campground features 120 sites and it is able to accommodate RVs that are up to 40′ long. You will find 20, 30, and 50-amp hookups for your RV. The sites are large and wooded, and some of them are right near the lake. They include water and electric. There is also a dump station.
The camp features fireplaces and picnic tables. There is a recreation hall and a general store that features RV supplies and other sundries that you might need. You can have fun on the basketball court of volleyball court and play shuffleboard and horseshoes. The campground also offers showers, restrooms and a laundry facility. You will also be able to rent boats and canoes for use on the lake.
Pets are allowed at the campground, but there are certain rules. You need to make sure that you have a valid rabies certificate to present when you check into the camp, and there are no pets allowed at the lake area sites or in the trailer rentals. You have to keep the pet on a leash at all times and don’t leave your pet alone. You also need to clean up after your pet. While visitors are welcome, their pets are not.
Getting to Chamberlain Lake Campground
You shouldn’t have much trouble getting to Chamberlain Lake Campground. From the I-84, Exit 73 you will take Rt. 190 east for 1.9 miles to Union. Turn right onto Rt. 171 and proceed 2.2 miles to Rt. 197. Take a left and travel 3.4 miles to Chamberlain Lake. From the I-395, Exit 97, take Rt. 44 West and go .9 miles to the light. Take a right onto Rt. 171 and travel 3.5 miles to Rt. 169 N. Keep going for 4.3 miles to Rt. 197 West. Take a left and the campground is located 3.8 miles down the road on your right.

Local Attractions
It is easy to find quite a few fun and interesting things to see and do when you are staying at the campground. Rather than spend all your time on the grounds, you might want to get out and explore.
Take a visit to one of the local wineries such as the Taylor Brook Winery. Taste a few of their wines and maybe even bring home a few bottles. Another place that you might want to visit in the area is the Stafford Motor Speedway. Race fans will love this. Since the campground is only about 37 miles from Hartford, you will probably want to take a trip. It is a great town to explore with a lot to offer.
