Plenty of Fun at the Dogwood Valley Campground
Traveling through Ohio in your RV will let you find some great campgrounds, and when you are in the Mount Gilead area, the Dogwood Valley Campground should be one of the first places you visit. This campground features a wide array of amenities and conveniences that make it such a wonderful place to bring your RV. Once you see everything that the campground has to offer, you can see why it is the perfect place to spend some time on your vacation. Dogwood Valley Campground is open from May 1 until October 15 each year.
What Does the Dogwood Valley Campground Offer?
The park features 139 sites with water and electric and 39 sites that have full hookups for water, electric and sewer. They have 20, 30, and 50-amp service, and they are even able to accommodate the big rigs. Guests will be happy to find that there are pull-thru sites as well as back in sites. Many of the sites have shade, and some of them are secluded. In addition, they have 22 primitive tent sites with no hookups and 2 group tent sites that have water and electric. Check in time is 2PM and checkout time is noon.
Dogwood Valley Campground also offers hot showers and clean restrooms. Cable television is available, and of course they have picnic tables and fire rings. They sell wood onsite, and you can’t bring in your own firewood because of the Emerald Ash borer. Campers will be able to go fishing in the stocked lake, or they can go swimming. They also have a heated pool and a laundry facility.
Guests will be able to enjoy a number of other fun activities at the campground including sand volleyball, tetherball, and horseshoes. They also offer playgrounds for the kids, video games, a general store and much more. Those who want to get back to nature will find some great hiking trails. Everyone in the family will be able to find plenty to love about this campground. Guest are able to bring their pets, but you must keep them on a leash, make sure they don’t bark and clean up after them.
Directions to Dogwood Valley Campground
Take the 35 N of Columbus Ohio. From the I-71, take SR 95 or SR 61 into the town of Mount Gilead. Proceed 2 miles north on the SR 61. Take Township Highway 99 .5 miles east and you will find the park.

The area around Mount Gilead has a lot to offer for just about everyone in the family. If you want to get out of the campground and spend a day finding some interesting things to do, you might want to head to the Pine Lakes Golf Course to play a round. You will also find some war memorials in the area to visit such as the Morrow County War Memorial and the D.A.R. Revolutionary Soldiers Memorial.
In addition, explore the town of Mount Gilead to find some shops to visit and places to grab a bite to eat. It is a friendly little town.
