La Mesa RV Park Offers a Different Colorado Experience
When many people think of Colorado, they picture in their mind images of the majestic Rocky Mountains. While those mountains are certainly a large part of what makes Colorado so great, the state has plenty of other interesting areas to visit and stay. In the southwestern part of the state, you will find the area of Cortez and the La Mesa RV Park. La Mesa RV Park is a great place to stay when you are traveling with your RV, and you will find that the park features the popular amenities that you want. One of the nice things about the park is that it is open year round. This is great if you are a hunter traveling in the fall, or you just want to take a vacation that isn’t in the middle of summer! The park is within Cortez and the Canyon of the Ancients.
Amenities at La Mesa RV Park
The park has 38 sites for RVs, and the spaces are large enough to accommodate RVs up to 52′ long. They have full hookups for water, sewer and electric available. They also offer partial hookups. The park offers sites for tent camping as well. You will also find wireless Internet hotspots at the campground.
The campground has quite a few other features that campers will be able to appreciate in addition to the great sites. They have clean showers and restrooms and even a laundry facility at the campground. A dump station is available for your convenience too. Pets are welcome at the campground for no additional charge. However, you have to make sure you keep your pet quiet so that it doesn’t disturb the other guests. It is also important to keep your pet on a leash at all times and to clean up after it.
Directions to the Campground
If you are coming from the south to Cortez, when the US 160 and the 491 split you are going to want to bear right on the 160. Proceed east through town on Main Street. Stay in the left lane. La Mesa is on the left side of the street just before Highway 145. When you are coming from Mesa Verde, you will drive west on the US 160 to the first traffic light. Go through the light and then get into the far right lane. You will find the park down about a block on your right.

Local Attractions
Campers who are staying at La Mesa RV Park will find some great attractions that are just a short drive away. If you want to get back to nature and experience some great trails, make sure that you head to Mesa Verde National Park. The park is just 8 miles from the entrance. Another popular place to visit that is within driving distance is the Four Corners area, where the states of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Colorado meet.
You will also be within driving distance of the Anasazi Heritage Center. It is a great way to learn more about the Anasazi people.
