Tanbark Campground is a Family Friendly Place to Stay
Dickson, Tennessee is a nice place to take a family vacation. The area offers enough of a rural atmosphere that you can feel as though you are truly getting back to nature, but you will still find that all of your needs are met when you stay at the right place. Tanbark Campground is a great option for those who are looking for a place to go camping with their RV. The campground is just 9 miles south of Dickson and only 45 miles west of Nashville.
Amenities at Tanbark Campground
Campers will find 38 sites for RVs at the campground. They have 33 sites that will accommodate RVs that are up to 40′ long and 5 sites that can accommodate RVs that are up to 56′ long. They have 18 pull-thru sites. The sites have full hookups for water, sewer and electric with 50-amp service. Wireless Internet is available as well. Tent camping is available for those who don’t have an RV.
The campground has very clean restrooms and hot showers. Campers will be able to do their laundry right onsite in the laundry room so they don’t have to head offsite. This is very convenient for those who are going to be staying for more than a few days, and it is especially nice for those who have messy children! You will find many of the little things you need and might have forgotten at the camp store. They also offer a pool table where you will be able to play with family, friends and other campers.
Campers will be able to bring their pets to the campground with them. However, you have to make sure that you have full control of your pet at all times. Keep them on a leash and make sure that you clean up after them.
Directions to Tanbark Campground
You will take the I-40 to Exit 163 and proceed for a quarter of a mile south on Highway 48. Then, you will proceed for another quarter of a miles east on Spradlen Road. You will find the campground – you can’t miss it!

Local Attractions
Campers will be able to find a wide range of things to see and do when they choose to stay at Tanbark Campground. When you venture off the grounds of the camp, you will be able to check out the Renaissance Center, which features an art gallery, bookstore, laser light shows and much more. They even have dinner theater and a science theater.
Campers can also visit Seven Flags, which is a place full of opportunities for family fun. They have miniature golf, laser tag, an arcade, an indoor playground, go-carts, snacks and much more. The entire family can have fun here.
Those who want to learn more about the history of the area will be able to visit Cumberland Furnace Historical Village. This site features more than 22 historical buildings and offers great insight into the history of the area, particularly during the Civil War.
